Over 300 Supporters Attend “Stinko de Mayo” and Raise $120,000 for Foundation for Thymic Cancer Research

Mexican-themed Stinky Ball sees same great fundraising efforts as inaugural year.

New York, May 4, 2007 — The Foundation for Thymic Cancer Research (FTCR) held its second annual Stinky Ball — aptly named “Stinko de Mayo” for its Mexican-theme — and raised over $120,000 for thymic cancer research.

Held at the illustrious Copacabana nightclub, the evening kicked off with a mariachi band and included an open bar, cocktail hour, buffet dinner, dancing and silent auction.

The Barbara Neibauer Celebration of Life Award, named after the FTCR co-founder, was given to Dr. Saul Suster, the Professor and Chairman of Pathology at the Medical College of Wisconsin. Dr. Suster is known as one of the world’s most respected and leading experts in his subspecialty.

About Stinky Ball
The Stinky Ball was named after a three-year-old boy called his father’s thymus cancer “Stinky Ball”. The event was created by the FTCR to raise awareness and funds for thymic cancer research. For more information, please visit www.Thymic.org or www.StinkyBall.org.
