One of our supporters in the U.K., Phil Buckley, is a dedicated runner. He is getting sponsors for a series of runs and dedicating the funds to the Foundation.
Phil just completed his first race – the John Muir Way 50km – and reports that he “got round safe and sound in a time of 4hrs and 36 minutes!” Great Going, Phil!
Here is a little about the race:
The John Muir Way Ultra Marathon is in its second year and is currently the only race of its type on the East coast of Scotland. Guaranteeing to provide competitors with mile upon mile of East Lothians most stunning and iconic coastal stretches, rural landscapes and woodland trails. The route will begin at Port Seton Promenade and primarily follow the well-established John Muir Way. Meandering through a number of historic towns and villages including Aberlady, Gullane and North Berwick with the race finishing at FoxTrail HQ; Foxlake Adventures, Dunbar.
The John Muir Way Ultra Marathon is 50km in distance on a relatively flat and fast course, the trail climbs gradual inclines at points when the John Muir Way meanders inland away from the coastline.
